The Graphics PARCUM* System: A 3D Memory Based Computer Architecture for Processing and Display of Solid Models
Abstract
The concept of a computer architecture for processing and display of spatially ordered data is presented in this paper. The central part of the architecture is a memory cube in which the objects can be processed in their real shape as a three-dimensional data array. The development has been rendered possible at reasonable costs through the rapid progress in the realm of VLSI-memory technology.
