Geodesic Curves on Patched Polynomial Surfaces
Abstract
A method is described for tracing geodesic curves across patched surfaces. Two techniques are discussed for constructing the curves - an initial value problem and a boundary value problem. Arc lengths are computed, as well as the enclosed area of an arbitrary region on the surface.
